Andrew was one of the finest gentlemen I ever had the privilege of working with. He was a fabulous musician, inspired teacher and always there to lend a hand in times of IT trouble (which for me was more often than not)! He was adored by all staff and students at Ringwood Secondary College and will be greatly missed. Goodbye to a gracious, generous soul. May you continue to play up a storm in heaven's orchestra! ❤️

Darling Andrew, my best husband, it was too sudden for me to accept reality. I would wake up countless times at night, and wake up with heart pain in the morning. In the past 14 years, what you have done for me has appeared in my mind like a movie. There will never be another you who love me so much in this world. You have my photos in your phone, don't delete them. Years later, I will find you, don't forget me. In heaven, you take care of yourself and don't work too hard. I will take good care of myself and our daughter and son. Please rest assured that I will continue your love for my daughter and maintain a good relationship with our big family. Much love to your wife Mary

Anyone who has known us for a long time probably knew 'Jake'. He has been one of Chris's closest friends since they were 18. They stood as Best Man for each other at our weddings. They have played together in more orchestras, performances and musicals than anyone can count. Any one who knew Chris and Jake in their 20s knew they pretty much came as a pair. We have shared our lives together over four decades. We parented babies and small children together and enjoyed many a holiday. We are heart broken. We are devastated. Tears well up everytime we reminisce. RIP Jakey-baby-boo-boo-head. We are gutted for you. NB photo of Andrew with our son, Sam.

Known Jake as long as we have known Chris. He always accepted us and included us in special times. He was such a warm hearted young man and always made us feel welcome. Our thoughts and prayers tomorrow and days following for Mary and other family members. He will be greatly missed.

Working and playing with Andrew was a gift. Over 30 years his calm nature, encouraging words and sense of humour made time spent with him a joy. A dreamer who acted on his ideas. I will miss hearing him make his oboe sing. RIP “Jake”

My dearest friend Andrew, I am currently across the world separated only by distance as we have been for many years, nonetheless, to coin a phrase, thank you for being my best friend, my very best friend . You were at St Paul's when I first arrived in Australia I the early 70s Through out all my teens my first and very best friend. So many days talking, cycling growing up and getting into minor mischief. When we left school our lives diverged, but you remained an influential part of my life and who I am now. Thank you for all the joy you gave so many people Through your music and life. Thank you for the unwavering friendship spanning over 50 years, thank you for your kindness and humour. Thank you for being you. You were and still are my original best friend. I trust we meet again.

Sleep well, Andrew. Your memory will live on in every note of music that is played. We will all wake up one-day being at peace with a shock of losing you. It is a big loss to the music world and a big loss to your family and close friends. My condolences to everyone, perhaps we can meet again in happier circumstances, but at least we can all be happy we have been blessed to know each other through Andrews life in one way or another.

I was so shocked to hear the news and equally sad that I'm so far away that I couldn't attend the funeral. I hadn't seen Jake in many years but have wonderful and fond memories of our time together in college. A stand out is the barbershop quartet. I still have recordings we made (thanks to Paul Dooley) and must dig them out when I finally get home. I loved your beautiful oboe playing, your beautiful, cheeky smile (which was often) and your kind loving and gently manner. My deepest condolences to Jake's family. My dear friend, Carolyn has just painted a beautiful picture over the phone to me of the service. Rest in Peace, Jake. Xx

So shocked to hear of this sad news. Andrew was a regular at our dinner table in the 80’s and 90’s as he went between helping with computer maintenance to rehearsals or performances. He was a musical inspiration to our girls, and a generous support and kind friend to us all. Rest in Peace Andrew. Condolences to his family.

Our beloved cousin Andrew, a talented teacher, musician and gentleman. Your funeral at St Paul’s was an amazing tribute. A choir of over 300 voices in harmony sharing stories or your extraordinary talent, kindness and gentleness. Our family chain has a link missing but your light and love lives on. Dear Andrew, What a wonderful send-off you had! It epitomised the life that you lived and the many lives that you touched. I am honoured to have known you and to have shared some wonderful family memories. The Summers at Inverloch in your Minnie and the privilege of you performing at my wedding. I am saddened that your life was cut short and that those close to you don’t get you for a longer time. Vale cousin Andrew!
