>read onSending love and best wishes to you all on the passing of your and our beloved Gwen, Matriarch Extraordinaire of the Ferny Creek Tennis Club. Her constancy in the Club and in our lives leaves us much saddened when we contemplate Club life without Gwen in it at all. For more than 50 years she worked tirelessly in every imaginable capacity and even in the past few years, she has attended events when she can. Rest in peace Gwen. You certainly deserve it, and know that you will be much missed by your friends who loved you at the Club.
My sincere condolences to Gwen’s family and friends. She will be sorely missed. From the moment I joined the Ferny Creek Tennis club almost 50 years ago Gwen has been a constant and tireless contributor to the club, encouraging all ages to enjoy and participate in the wonderful game of tennis. I have written many of my memories of Gwen down and and it was very hard to condense them. Gwen was an amazing woman and I am very thankful to have known her over all those years. She will not be forgotten and her presence will be felt on the court, in committee meetings, over a cup of tea and much much more. Vale Gwen.
My loving thoughts go out to Gwen’s family. Gwen held together in faith and love the members of the former Kennon Memorial Uniting Church in Sassafras. She worked quietly behind the scenes in the ladies’ fellowship group, church music, concerts and the memorable Christmas Eve services. Gwen was an amazing lady.
We will deeply miss our neighbour Gwen, who welcomed us and looked after us and our children at No. 93 over 33 years. A wily tennis opponent and partner and great friend. Our sincere sympathy to all her family.
So sorry we were unable to attend and miss the tributes so richly deserved for Gwen. So glad she was a part of our lives for such a long time. We will always remember her coming into the Servo at Christmas, when it was always so hard to find time to bake for ourselves, and she would present us with plates of delicious mince pies and shortbreads. Thank you Gwen.
Thinking of you all at this sad time, she will be missed! ❤️ Love from Sandy and Pete
Dear Chritine and Alison, We saw your Mother's Farewell Service today, and it was excellent, and well presented. Sorry we were not well enough to attend. Condolences to all the family. Love, Noel and Gwen Dennis.
