We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Liz. Alison let us know. Such great memories of our times in Bairnsdale and Blackburn on our two trips Down Under. Her love will stay with you always. Helen and Steve
Phillip and Family. Sympathy for the loss of Liz. I remember her well from our days at Chalmers Hall and for the time we shared a flat. A great example of a devoted family person who also showed affection to all she came in contact with. Sadly missed but her pain is now over.
Such fond memories of Liz both at Bairnsdale High School and in the last five years when we reconnected. We shared a common interest in reading books and I was able to read my way through all the Covid-19 lockdowns. I was to visit her last week to see her new residence in Box Hill North but not to be. Thanking God for the rich friendship I developed with Liz over the many years we were both Spiritual Directors. Liz was a gentle, perceptive, lady who quietly encouraged all she met. Dear Liz, you will remain in my heart forever.

I am grateful to have known Liz as my Supervisor in part of my Spiritual Companioning formation. We connected with ease, and I valued our conversations and the wisdom she had gleaned from life and ministry. I felt sad when she could not continue due to illness, and then in her inimitable way, she sent a message of encouragement as I approached the final stage of the formation course. Rest in peace, dear Liz, as you hear the affirmation- ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’ My condolences to her husband, family and all who loved her.
I first met Liz as a fellow student in our spiritual direction formation course at WellSpring and very much appreciated her kind and generous nature, her deep spirituality and her lovely sense of humour. She has been a gift as a spiritual director to many pilgrims, as an excellent supervisor to a number of students and as an encouraging and discerning colleague. It was also special for me to discover Liz had had a significant connection with my aunt in Bairnsdale, having worked with her in her pharmacy soon after Liz finished her training. My heart dropped with an instant heaviness, a weight of disbelief, when I read Liz had passed. Liz brimmed with life and warmth, she was always generous with a smile, a laugh and chatter when we 'crossed paths' at WellSpring. It is difficult to accept that her time has come and I feel a real sadness that there will be no more catch ups on the ordinary goings on of life, including episodes of family [3 daughters and a son, both of us], which I enjoyed so much in our comings and goings at WellSpring. Liz was gracious and thoughtful, she brought a gently curiosity to conversations and offered safe space for others to be included and heard. My prayer is of deep gratitude, and for her beloved family may there be comfort and peace. Maria
Liz and Philip have been our friends since meeting at Blackburn North Baptist around 1977. Liz will always be remembered as a gentle, kind and loving person, yet firm and decisive in her beliefs and opinions Never pushy, we greatly appreciated her knoeledge and insight into all facets of life. Liz was generous and hospitable and we were grateful for that when we visited from Queensland. We kept in touch over the years since moving 30 years ago and we will deeply miss seeing Liz again till we meet again in heaven. I met Liz through the poetry days she used to run at Wellspring. What a gift she had in her gentle but enthusiastic way of helping us to appreciate the poems she shared. She had a way of slowing us down to drink deeply from the well of rich language, lyrics and literature and her love for God and Creation often shone through. I also appreciated the monthly poems she shared through the Wellspring Poetry Network. Although we will miss her very much, she has left a legacy of poetry appreciation continuing at Wellspring, for which we are very thankful.
I have known Liz for about the last 20 years. Liz was an amazing lady who loved a chat about anything and everything as well as church matters. Liz was a remarkable person who I will miss more than I can say. Thank you for the wonderful service today.The family and Phillip did a wonderful job today thank you for allowing me to come along. We were so pleased to be part of Blackburn Nth and watch our 4 children each grow and to see them go through Sunday school Now it is time to rest in peace
Dear Philip, Andrew, Joanna, Kathryn and Megan and families, Thankyou for the privilege of participating in Elizabeth's Thanksgiving Service via livestream. I would have attended in person had we not be on holidays in Tasmania at the time. It meant so much to still be able be present in that way. I thought it was a beautiful service and really honoured the person we all loved. I will treasure the times Elizabeth and I spent as friends and colleagues in supervision and at WellSpring Centre. Time spent with her was always time well spent and I always came away feeling edified by the experience. I can only begin to imagine the deep sense of loss the family will be feeling and you remain in my thoughts and prayers. With my love Rosanne Arnott.

I first met Liz at the Church of All Nations in Carlton. We were good friends for a few years before our paths diverged. Happily we reconnected at a big birthday of a mutual friend and have been in regular touch for many years. Liz was a great listener and source of comfort when life threw a curved ball.
