Our deepest sympathy to dear Gwen & family on the passing of Bob. Loving memories of great times spent together. Love Gary & Margaret
Bob was a passionate and dedicated volunteer who was an inspiration to many. His commitment to helping volunteers across the state will be sadly missed. Condolences to Gwen , Bob's family, and all members of the Sassafras Ferny Creek Fire Brigade.
So many lifelong happy memories starting with Sunday School at the Methodist Church with Bob as Leader, later travelling to work in the city, with Bob and Doug Bundy and then yearly Christmas letters keeping our families up to date! A lovely service, sorry we could not be with you all today in person. Our thoughts are with you all at this sad time.❤
The devastation of hearing of Bobs passing was only surpassed by the devastation of not being able to be there this afternoon. I am very grateful for the internet Bob was a huge part of my life, as a friend and a mentor not only in brigade life with his unwavering support and encouragement in all my decisions over the journey but also on a personal level, there was a time when as a young man in I was in a fairly dark place in my life, Bob sought me out and spent considerable time with me listening, advising and ultimately guiding me to be the person I am today To Gwen, Geoff and all the Horner family I offer my sincere heartfelt condolences and love
Very sorry to hear of Bob's passing and sorry that I was not able to attend. Bob was a good colleague through the Brigade and even when he became inactive it was still great to see him attend at meetings and be a great conversationalist. Condolences to Geoff and the family.
My parents, Noel and Gwen were life long friends of Bob and family, especially dad who attended Dandenong primary school with Bob. I never really knew Bob but having attended the funeral last week, I was amazed and inspired by his life story including dedication to his family and community. Condolences from my family to the Horner family.
I was saddened to hear of Bob's passing. Bob was a great mentor and provided excellent and wise counsel during my time with the Victorian Rural Fire Brigades Association (VRFBA) and later the Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria (VFBV). Condolences to Gwen and the Horner family.
To dear Gwen and the entire Horner clan, our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to you all. What a man of great integrity, loyalty, service and love Bob was! He was a true gentleman. It was great to be able to hear all the tributes and stories of Bob's life via the online streaming service having been overseas at the time of the memorial service. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time. There are, no doubt, many memories to be cherished and treasured. Love Jody and Heather
I was travelling at the time of Bob's funeral so was unable to attend. I have just watched the footage of the service at the Bob Horner Memorial Hall. What a wonderful tribute to Bob and his lifetime with his family and his community! I will miss seeing you at the Reserve Bob and have fond memories of you bringing Gwen to our Tennis Club Committee meetings in the latter years. You can definitely rest in peace. Barb Smith
