Sending my love and thoughts to all of Joan’s family. She was a very special and beautiful woman of God. I don’t think I have ever had an interaction with Joan where I wasn’t greeted with her trademark smile. I still remember it even from when she taught me in Sunday school many years ago. What has always stood out to me every time I spoke with Joan, was how she was always so patient and unhurried in her conversation. Genuinely interested in how I was or how the family was going. She was always kind and encouraging. In more recent years, I loved saying hello to Joan and Mary and having a chat as they were arriving to the Tuesday friends group at Syndal, them on their way into the building passing by as I would usually be out in the sandpit or playground area with my son during Playgroup. It was always so lovely. I will miss seeing Joan around Syndal and her beautiful presence and warmth. It was a beautiful service for her and Wendy and Elli, you spoke so beautifully of your precious mum and grandma. Much love, Bec

Beautiful Joan. When I arrived at Syndal Baptist as a young Mum, she welcomed and prayed with me as part of the Wednesday KYB prayer group. . Her comfort as my family went through the trauma of caring for a family member who had cancer was invaluable. Thank you Joan
